1. World Humanitarian Day is observed on August 19
World Humanitarian Day is observed every year on 19 August to pay tribute to humanitarian personnel and those workers who lost or risked their lives while doing humanitarian service. The theme for 2021 is #TheHumanRace: a global challenge for climate action in solidarity with people who need it the most.

2. World Photography Day is observed on August 19
World Photography Day is celebrated on 19 August every year to promote photography as a hobby and also inspire photographers around the globe to share a single photo with the rest of the world. The first official World Photo Day was observed on August 19, 2010.

3. Odisha to become 1st Indian state to Provide Smart Health Cards
Odisha is all set to launch India’s first ‘Smart Health Cards scheme’ covering its 3.5 crore people of 96 lakh families under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana. The objective behind Smart Health Cards is to provide hassle-free quality treatment at the best available health care facilities. These cards will work like debit cards for a certain amount.

The Indian Navy and Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) undertook a bilateral maritime exercise in the South China Sea, to strengthen the defence ties among the two navies.

5. PR Sreejesh to be brand ambassador of Kerala adventure tourism
Olympian Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh, goalkeeper and former captain of the Indian National Hockey team is set to be named as the brand ambassador of adventure tourism in Kerala. Sreejesh was a part of the Indian Hockey team that won the bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.

6. RBI to introduce ‘Regulatory GAAR’ for round tripping
The Reserve Bank of India has come up with a draft rule with modifications in the existing regulation related to foreign investment to discourage round-tripping. The central bank is looking to tweak the existing regulations and has come up with draft rules around round-tripping.

7. World Athletics U20 Championships begins in Nairobi
The 2021 edition of the World Athletics U20 Championships has been started in Nairobi, Kenya.

8. A book on “OPERATION KHUKRI” released by CDS General Bipin Rawat
CDS General Bipin Rawat was presented a book “OPERATION KHUKRI” by authors Major General Rajpal Punia & Ms Damini Punia. The book highlights the Indian Army’s successful rescue mission in Sierra Leone as part of the United Nations.

9. RBI to put in place a “PRISM” to strengthen compliance by lenders
The Reserve Bank of India is putting in place a Platform for Regulated Entities for Integrated Supervision and Monitoring (PRISM), a web-based end-to-end workflow automation system, to strengthen compliance by supervised entities (SEs). This is aimed at helping supervised entities to strengthen their internal defences and resilience and bringing focus on root cause analysis (RCA).

ओडिशा बीजू स्वास्थ्य कल्याण योजना के तहत 96 लाख परिवारों के 3.5 करोड़ लोगों को कवर करते हुए भारत की पहली ‘स्मार्ट हेल्थ कार्ड योजना’ शुरू करने के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार है। स्मार्ट हेल्थ कार्ड के पीछे का उद्देश्य सर्वोत्तम उपलब्ध स्वास्थ्य देखभाल सुविधाओं पर परेशानी मुक्त गुणवत्तापूर्ण उपचार प्रदान करना है। ये कार्ड एक निश्चित राशि के लिए डेबिट कार्ड की तरह काम करेंगे।

4. भारतीय नौसेना ने वियतनाम के साथ किया द्विपक्षीय समुद्री अभ्यास
भारतीय नौसेना और वियतनाम पीपुल्स नेवी ने दोनों नौसेनाओं के बीच रक्षा संबंधों को मजबूत करने के लिए दक्षिण चीन सागर में एक द्विपक्षीय समुद्री अभ्यास किया।

5. पीआर श्रीजेश होंगे केरल एडवेंचर टूरिज्म के ब्रांड एंबेसडर
ओलंपियन परट्टू रावेन्द्रन श्रीजेश, गोलकीपर और भारतीय राष्ट्रीय हॉकी टीम के पूर्व कप्तान को केरल में साहसिक पर्यटन के ब्रांड एंबेसडर के रूप में नामित किया जाना तय है। श्रीजेश उस भारतीय हॉकी टीम का हिस्सा थे जिसने टोक्यो 2020 ओलंपिक खेलों में कांस्य पदक जीता था।

6. राउंड ट्रिपिंग के लिए आरबीआई ‘रेगुलेटरी गार’ पेश करेगा
भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक राउंड-ट्रिपिंग को हतोत्साहित करने के लिए विदेशी निवेश से संबंधित मौजूदा विनियमन में संशोधन के साथ एक मसौदा नियम लेकर आया है। केंद्रीय बैंक मौजूदा नियमों में बदलाव करना चाहता है और राउंड-ट्रिपिंग के लिए मसौदा नियमों के साथ आया है।
