1. Ghaziabad is world’s second most polluted city of 2020
Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad was adjudged the second most polluted city out of the 50 ‘most polluted cities’ in the world in 2020 by a report prepared by British company HouseFresh. Ghaziabad reported an average Air Quality Index of 2.5 particulate matter in 106.6µg/m3.

2. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launches PROOF App
In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has unveiled a mobile application named PROOF, to bring more transparency and accountability in the governance system. PROOF stands for ‘Photographic Record of On-site Facility’. The main objective of this app is to monitor the work progress of all the projects allocated to different departments of the UT and ensure timely completion of these projects.

3. UP govt to set up Anti-Terrorist Squad training centre
The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to set up a training centre for Anti-Terrorist Squad commandos in Saharanpur’s Deoband.

4. RBI launches the Financial Inclusion Index
The Reserve Bank of India has introduced the Financial Inclusion Index (FI-Index), which is a measure of the extent of financial inclusion in India. FI-Index incorporates the inclusion details of banking, investments, insurance, postal and pension sector in India.

5. Mohammad Azam honoured with National Youth Award
Mohammad Azam from Karimnagar district in Telangana has been awarded the National Youth Award recently by the Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur in Delhi for displaying exemplary leadership qualities. He has conducted several awareness programmes related to blood donation, organ donation and plantation programmes under the Haritha Haram project. The award carries an appreciation certificate and Rs 50,000 cash.

6. Mahatma Gandhi to be given the US Congressional Gold Medal
An influential US lawmaker from New York reintroduced a resolution in the US House of Representatives to posthumously award the prestigious Congressional Gold Medal to Mahatma Gandhi in recognition of his promotion of peace and nonviolence.

7. Raunak Sadhwani wins 2021 Spilimbergo Open Chess Tournament
A 15-year-old young Indian Grandmaster Raunak Sadhwani has won the 19th Spilimbergo Open chess tournament in Italy. The fourth-seeded Sadhwani, who hails from Nagpur, remained undefeated in the tournament, with seven points from nine rounds, in which claimed five wins and four draws.

8. Amway India appoints Mirabai Chanu as brand ambassador
Direct selling FMCG firm Amway India has announced that it has appointed Olympian Saikhom Mirabai Chanu as the brand ambassador for Amway and its Nutrilite range of products. Chanu, a weightlifter, won the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the women’s 49kg category.

9. Maki Kaji, creator of Sudoku puzzle passes away
Maki Kaji, the creator of puzzle Sudoku passed away at the age of 69 years due to bile duct cancer. He was known as the father of Sodoku and was from Japan. He was the president of Nikoli Co., Ltd., a Japanese puzzle manufacturer. Kaji established Japan’s first puzzle magazine, Puzzle Tsushin Nikoli, with pals in 1980. His most legendary creation, Sudoku, followed in 1983.

ब्रिटिश कंपनी हाउसफ्रेश द्वारा तैयार की गई एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार उत्तर प्रदेश के गाजियाबाद को 2020 में दुनिया के 50 ‘सबसे प्रदूषित शहरों’ में से दूसरा सबसे प्रदूषित शहर घोषित किया गया था। गाजियाबाद ने 2.5 पार्टिकुलेट मैटर का औसत वायु गुणवत्ता सूचकांक 106.6 माइक्रोग्राम प्रति घन मीटर दर्ज किया।

2. जम्मू-कश्मीर के उपराज्यपाल मनोज सिन्हा ने किया PROOF ऐप लॉन्च

उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने सहारनपुर के देवबंद में आतंकवाद निरोधी दस्ते कमांडो के लिए एक प्रशिक्षण केंद्र स्थापित करने का निर्णय लिया है।

4. RBI ने वित्तीय समावेशन सूचकांक लॉन्च किया
भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने वित्तीय समावेशन सूचकांक पेश किया है, जो भारत में वित्तीय समावेशन की सीमा का एक उपाय है। FI-इंडेक्स में भारत में बैंकिंग, निवेश, बीमा, डाक और पेंशन क्षेत्र के समावेशन विवरण शामिल हैं।

न्यूयॉर्क के एक प्रभावशाली अमेरिकी सांसद ने महात्मा गांधी को उनकी शांति और अहिंसा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए मरणोपरांत प्रतिष्ठित कांग्रेस के स्वर्ण पदक से सम्मानित करने के लिए अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधि सभा में एक प्रस्ताव फिर से पेश किया।

7. रौनक साधवानी ने 2021 स्पिलिमबर्गो ओपन शतरंज टूर्नामेंट जीता
एक 15 वर्षीय युवा भारतीय ग्रैंडमास्टर रौनक साधवानी ने इटली में 19वां स्पिलिमबर्गो ओपन शतरंज टूर्नामेंट जीता है। नागपुर की रहने वाली चौथी वरीयता प्राप्त साधवानी नौ राउंड से सात अंक लेकर टूर्नामेंट में अपराजित रही, जिसमें पांच जीत और चार ड्रॉ रहे।

8. एमवे इंडिया ने मीराबाई चानू को ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त किया
डायरेक्ट सेलिंग एफएमसीजी फर्म एमवे इंडिया ने घोषणा की है कि उसने ओलंपियन सेखोम मीराबाई चानू को एमवे और उसके उत्पादों की न्यूट्रीलाइट रेंज के लिए ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त किया है। भारोत्तोलक चानू ने 2020 टोक्यो ओलंपिक में महिलाओं के 49 किग्रा वर्ग में रजत पदक जीता।

9. सुडोकू पहेली के निर्माता माकी काजी का निधन
पहेली सुडोकू के निर्माता माकी काजी का 69 वर्ष की आयु में पित्त नली के कैंसर के कारण निधन हो गया। वह सोडोकू के पिता के रूप में जाने जाते थे और जापान से थे। वह एक जापानी पहेली निर्माता निकोली कंपनी लिमिटेड के अध्यक्ष थे। काजी ने 1980 में दोस्तों के साथ जापान की पहली पहेली पत्रिका, पहेली त्सुशिन निकोली की स्थापना की। 1983 में सुडोकू उनकी सबसे प्रसिद्ध रचना।
