PM Modi flags off eight trains connecting different regions of country to Statue of Unity in Kevadiya
??Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off eight trains connecting different regions of the country to Kevadiya through video conferencing. These trains will facilitate seamless connectivity to the Statue of Unity.
??Speaking on the occasion Mr Modi said, today is a historic day for us as the beauty of Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat is being highlighted. He said, in the history of Indian Railways, for the first time eight trains from across the nation have been connected with a single destination. The Prime Minister said, today is the amalgamation of Indian Railways Mission and Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s Vision. He said, there is no place like Kevadia and it is identified by the Statue of Unity and Sardar Sarovar Dam.
??Mr Modi said, it is becoming the new tourist destination of the country and it is estimated that in the coming years one lakh people will daily visit Kevadiya. He said, Kevadia is fast emerging as a prime tourist destination in India. Mr Modi said, tourists from various countries are visiting Kevadia and Statue of Unity has more tourists than Statue of Liberty. He said, the biggest benefit of this rail connectivity will not only be available to the tourists visiting the Statue of Unity, but it will also change the lives of Kevadia tribals.
??The Prime Minister said, many facilities have been brought to Kevadia. Employment is generated in nearby Tribal villages. He said, more than 200 rooms in Adivasi villages have been turned into homestays. Mr Modi said, modernisation of Railways is underway and Government is focussing on newer technology in Railways. He said, Indian Railways braved hard climatic conditions and raging COVID-19 pandemic to complete all its ambitious projects.
??The Prime Minister said, we make sure that Indian Railways not only uses new Aatma Nirbhar techonologies but also ensure that they are environment friendly. He said, the beautiful Kevadiya is an excellent example of how both economy and ecology can be developed rapidly while protecting the environment in a planned manner.
??Mr. Modi said that the Statue of Unity is already on the world tourist map and very soon we will witness 1 lakh tourists at the statue of unity on a daily basis. Mr. Modi said that all these projects will change the life of tribal people in this region.
??Paying tributes to Bharat Ratna M G Ramachandran, Mr Modi said, today, one of the trains leaving for Kevadia is coming from Puratchi Talaivar Dr. MG Ramachandran Central Railway Station. He said, it is a happy coincidence that today is the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna awaredee MGR.
??Speaking on this occasion Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that today is the historic day for Gujarat. He said that the Center and state government have implemented a series of projects at the Statue of Unity site that will provide employment and livelihood to the local tribals. Railways Minister Piyush Goyal was also present on the occasion.
??The trains flagged off by Prime Minister today include Kevadiya-Varanasi Mahamana Express (Weekly), Dadar-Kevadiya Express (Daily), Ahmedabad-Kevadiya Janshatabdi Express (Daily), Nizamuddin – Kevadia Sampark Kranti Express (Bi-Weekly), Kevadia – Rewa Express (Weekly), Chennai – Kevadia Express (Weekly), Pratapnagar-Kevadia MEMU train (Daily) and Kevadiya-Pratapnagar MEMU train (Daily).
??According to the Railway Ministry, the Ahmedabad-Kevadiya Jan Shatabdi Express has been provided with the new-age Vista-dome tourist coach which will offer a panoramic view of the skyline.
??The Prime Minister also inaugurated Dabhoi-Chandod broad gauge railway line, Chandod Kevadiya new broad gauge railway line, newly electrified Pratapnagar- Kevadiya section and the new station buildings of Dabhoi, Chandod and Kevadiya.
??These projects are aimed to boost development and tourism in the region. The buildings have been designed aesthetically incorporating local features and modern passenger amenities. Kevadiya Railway Station is India’s first station with a Green Building Certification.
??Situated near Kevadiya in Gujarat’s Narmada district, the ‘Statue of Unity’ is the world’s tallest statue and monumental tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, independent India’s first home minister as well as deputy Prime Minister.
??The 597 ft tall Statue of Unity was inaugurated in October 2018 by Prime Minister Modi on the occasion of Patel’s 143rd birth anniversary.
About Statue of Unity:
The Statue of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950), who was the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home minister of independent India and adherent of Mahatma Gandhi during the non-violent Indian Independence movement.
Patel was highly respected for his leadership in uniting 562 princely states of India with a major part of the former British Raj to form the single Union of India. The statue is located in the state of Gujarat, India. It is the world’s tallest statue with a height of 182 metres (597 feet).[3] It is located on the Narmada River in the Kevadiya colony, facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of the city of Vadodara[4] and 150 kilometres (93 mi) from Surat.
The project was first announced in 2010 and the construction of the statue started in October 2013 by Larsen & Toubro, with a total construction cost of ₹2,989 crore (₹29.89 billion; US$437 million).[5] It was designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar, and was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018, the 143rd anniversary of Sardar Patel’s birth.
प्रधानमंत्री ने स्टैच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी को देश के विभिन्न भागों से जोड़ने वाली 8 रेलगाड़ियां रवाना कीं
??प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने आज वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के ज़रिए देश के विभिन्न भागों से केवड़िया को जोड़ने वाली आठ रेलगाड़ियां झंडी दिखाकर रवाना कीं। इन रेलगाडि़यों के माध्यम से स्टैच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी तक की यात्रा और सुगम हो जाएगी।
??प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि आज हम सबके लिए ऐतिहासिक दिन है। आज एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत अपने सुन्दर रूप में परिलक्षित हो रहा है। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि भारतीय रेलवे के इतिहास में पहली बार देशभर से आठ रेलगाडि़यां एक-साथ एक गन्तव्य से जुड़ गई हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि आज भारतीय रेलवे मिशन और सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल की परिकल्पना का समागम हुआ है। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि केवडि़या के समान कोई दूसरा स्थान नहीं है और यह स्टैच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी और सरदार सरोवर बांध से जाना जा सकता है।
??प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि केवडि़या भारत में प्रमुख पर्यटन स्थल बनकर उभर रहा है। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि दुनियाभर से पर्यटक केवडि़या आ रहे हैं और यहां आने वाले पर्यटकों की संख्या स्टैच्यू ऑफ लिबर्टी देखने जाने वाले लोगों से ज्यादा हो गई है।
??प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि केवडि़या में अनेक सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई गई हैं और पास के जनजातीय गांवों में रोजगार का सृजन किया जा रहा है।
?? प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि आदिवासी गांवों में 200 से ज्यादा कमरों को ‘होम स्टे’ के रूप में बदला गया हैं। रेलवे का आधुनिकीकरण जारी है और सरकार रेलवे में नवीनतम तकनीक अपनाने पर ध्यान दे रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय रेलवे ने मौसम की कठोर स्थिति और कोविड-19 महामारी को चुनौती देते हुए अपनी सभी परियोजनाओं को पूरा किया है।
??प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि हम यह सुनिश्चित करते हैं कि भारतीय रेलवे न केवल नई आत्मनिर्भर तकनीकों का इस्तेमाल करें, बल्कि ये तकनीकें पर्यावरण अनुकूल भी हों। उन्होंने कहा कि खूबसूरत केवडि़या इस बात का श्रेष्ठ उदाहरण है कि किस तरह पर्यावरण को योजनाबद्ध तरीके से संरक्षित करते हुए अर्थव्यवस्था का तेजी से विकास किया जा सकता है।
??भारत रत्न एम.जी.रामचन्द्रन को श्रद्धांजलि देते हुए श्री मोदी ने कहा कि आज केवडि़या आ रही एक ट्रेन पुरात्ची तलईवार डॉ.एम.जी. रामचन्द्रन सेन्ट्रल रेलवे स्टेशन से रवाना हुई है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह एक सुखद संयोग है कि आज ही भारत रत्न एम.जी.आर की जयंती है।
??प्रधानमंत्री ने साप्ताहिक केवडि़या-वाराणसी महामना एक्सप्रेस, दैनिक दादर-केवडि़या एक्सप्रेस, दैनिक अहमदाबाद-केवडि़या जनशताब्दी एक्सप्रेस, सप्ताह में दो बार चलने वाली निजामुद्दीन-केवडिया सम्पर्क क्रांति एक्सप्रेस, साप्ताहिक केवडि़या-रीवा एक्सप्रेस, साप्ताहिक चेन्नई-केवडि़या एक्सप्रेस, दैनिक प्रताप नगर-केवडि़या एमईएमयू ट्रेन और दैनिक केवडि़या-प्रताप नगर एमईएमयू ट्रेन को झंड़ी दिखाकर रवाना किया।
??रल मंत्रालय के अनुसार अहमदाबाद-केवडि़या जनशताब्दी एक्सप्रेस में आधुनिक विस्टा-डोम कोच लगाया गया है।
??इन रेलवे स्टेशनों का निर्माण स्थानीय विशेषताओं और आधुनिक यात्री सुविधाओं के साथ सुरूचिपूर्ण ढंग से किया गया है। केवड़िया रेलवे स्टेशन देश का पहला हरित भवन प्रमाणपत्र वाला रेलवे स्टेशन है।
??गजरात के नर्मदा जिले में केवडि़या के पास स्थित विश्व की सबसे ऊंची प्रतिमा स्टैच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल को भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि है। सरदार पटेल स्वाधीन भारत के पहले गृहमंत्री और उपप्रधानमंत्री थे।
??597 फीट ऊंची स्टैच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी का उद्घाटन प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने अक्टूबर, 2018 में सरदार पटेल की 143वीं जयंती पर किया था।
