South African Native National Congress (SANNC) was founded on 8 January 1912 by John Langalibalele Dube in Bloemfontein. Assam govt to provide khadi shirt, eri shawl and eri stole to Grade IV employees in a phased manner
Assam government will provide khadi shirt, eri shawl and eri stole to Grade IV employees in a phased manner, in a move to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and his movement for Khadi. The first phase will be started within this month. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, the initiative has been taken in the true spirit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for Atmanirbhar Bharat and Assam government’s series of activities for making Assam self-reliant.
Army, LAHDC Kargil sign MoU to evacuate Kargil Lower Plateau
In a historic development, an MoU was signed between the LAHDC Kargil and the Army to evacuate the Kargil Lower Plateau. The MoU was signed between the Deputy Commissioner and CEO,LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary on behalf of the LAHDC, Kargil and Brigade Commander, 121 Infantry Division Brigadier Vivek Bakshi on behalf of the Army in presence of the Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan and the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 8 Mountain Division Major General Praveen Kumar Airy, AVSM. As per the MoU, substitute land shall be provided to the Army near Maratha Unit Kurbathang and Mulbekh area.
Centre approves new National Highway projects worth Rs 5,801 cr for Maharashtra
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gandkari said that the Centre has approved new National Highway projects worth Rs 5,801 crore rupees for Maharashtra under the Annual Plan.

I&B Minister launches Govt’s Digital Calender, Diary App
Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today launched Government’s Digital Calender and Diary App in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Javadekar said, government calendar that has adorned the walls in the past will now adorn mobile phones. He said, now technology has changed and there are now 120 crores mobile phones in the country. The Minister said, 70 crore people are using mobile phones and they are using calendar in mobile.
IREDA signs MoU with NHPC for providing its technical expertise in developing renewable energy projects
Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited, IREDA under administrative control of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NHPC Limited, the PSU under Ministry of Power for providing its technical expertise in developing renewable energy projects. Under the MoU, IREDA will undertake Techno-Financial due diligence of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency and conservation projects for NHPC. IREDA will assist NHPC in developing an action plan to create and acquire Renewable Energy projects for the next five years.
EESL, NHAI sign deal for setting up solar power projects
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) signed a pact with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for setting up solar power projects, energy efficient LED lighting and EV charging stations at NHAI establishments. EESL is a joint venture of NTPC Limited, PFC Limited, REC Limited and POWERGRID Corporation of India Limited.
NIXI offers free Domain in local Indian languages
The National Internet Exchange of India, NIXI has announced that it will offer a free Internationalized Domain Name, IDN in any of the preferred 22 official Indian language along with every IN domain booked by the registrant. Applicant will also get a free email in local language. This offer has been created to stimulate the adoption of à¤à¤¾à¤°à¤¤ IDN domain name and proliferation of local language content. This offer is valid for new .in users who register up to 31st of January. This offer is also extended to those existing in users who renew their domain in the month of January 2021.
Japan commits ₹2,113 cr support for Covid relief efforts
The Government of Japan has committed Official Development Assistance loan of 30 billion Japanese Yen which is approximately two thousnd one hundred 13 crore rupees for a programme loan to support India’s efforts at providing social assistance to the poor and vulnerable households, severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Flipkart to train aspirants who want to work in the logistics industry
E-commerce marketplace Flipkart has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Logistics Skill Sector Council (LSC), an organisation set up by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship through National Skill Development Corporation of India and Karnataka Skill Development Centre. As part of the MoU, Flipkart launched a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to build a skilled and trained workforce for the fast-growing e-commerce industry.
