1. International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples is observed on 9 August
United Nations observes the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples on 09th August every year. The day is being observed to protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population and recognize the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection. The theme for 2021 is “Leaving no one behind: Indigenous peoples and the call for a new social contract.”

2. Nation observes 79th anniversary of Quit India movement
The 79th anniversary of the August Kranti Din or Quit India Movement, which is considered as one of the important milestones in the history of the freedom struggle of our country, is being observed on 8 August 2021. On 8 Aug 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave a clarion call to end British rule and launched the Quit India Movement at the session of the All-India Congress Committee in Mumbai.

3. Karnataka becomes first state to issue order implementing NEP-2020
Karnataka has become the first state in the country to issue the order with regard to the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020. The state government has issued an order on the implementation of NEP-2020 with effect from the current academic year 2021-2022.

4. Haryana govt signs MoU with Walmart Vriddhi to help MSMEs
The Haryana government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ‘Walmart Vriddhi’ and ‘Haqdarshak’ to create a pathway for Indian MSMEs’ products to move to the international markets.

5. Ministry for Social Justice launches ‘PM-DAKSH’ Portal and Mobile App
The Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar has unveiled a portal and mobile application named ‘PM-DAKSH’, which aims to make the skill development schemes accessible to the target groups. The ‘PM-DAKSH’ stands for Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi (PM-DAKSH) Yojana.

6. Indian Railways Launches Rail Madad: A Unified Customer Care Solution
Indian Railways has launched an integrated one-stop solution “Rail Madad” in which the national transporter has merged a number of existing helplines that were used for various purposes into one. The Railway ministry toll-free number 139 can be used for all kinds of enquiries and making complaints and the helpline facility is available round-the-clock in 12 languages.

7. MS Dhoni becomes first brand ambassador of HomeLane
Home interiors brand HomeLane has entered into a three-year strategic partnership with Mahendra Singh Dhoni as an equity partner and brand ambassador. As part of the partnership, Dhoni will own equity in HomeLane and will be the company’s first brand ambassador.

8. James Anderson becomes 3rd highest wicket-taker in Test cricket
James Anderson overtook Anil Kumble’s tally of 619 Test wickets to become the third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. He achieved the milestone on the 3rd day of the Nottingham Test against India.

9. Veteran actor Anupam Shyam passes away
Veteran actor Anupam Shyam has passed away. The actor was best known for his work on the TV show Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya and appearances in films like Slumdog Millionaire and Bandit Queen. In his nearly three-decade-long career, Shyam featured in films like Satya, Dil Se, Lagaan, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and received critical acclaim for his role as Thakur Sajjan Singh on Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya which aired in 2009 on Star Plus.

10. Noted Kerala sculptor, cartoonist P.S. Banarji passes away
Noted Kerala Cartoonist, sculptor and folk singer, P.S. Banarji has passed away. A recipient of the Lalithakala Akademi Fellowship, Banarji was noted for his Ayyankali and Buddha sculptures at Venganur and Koduman. Known for his rendition of a string of folk songs, including the popular ‘Tharaka Pennale’, he was working as a graphic designer in an IT firm.

अगस्त क्रांति दिवस या भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन की 79वीं वर्षगांठ, जिसे हमारे देश के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के इतिहास में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर माना जाता है, 8 अगस्त 2021 को मनाया जा रहा है। 8 अगस्त 1942 को महात्मा गांधी ने ब्रिटिश शासन को समाप्त करने का आह्वान किया और मुंबई में अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस कमेटी के सत्र में भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन शुरू किया।

2. कर्नाटक NEP-2020 को लागू करने वाला पहला राज्य बना
राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति-2020 के क्रियान्वयन के संबंध में आदेश जारी करने वाला कर्नाटक देश का पहला राज्य बन गया है। राज्य सरकार ने वर्तमान शैक्षणिक वर्ष 2021-2022 से NEP-2020 के कार्यान्वयन पर एक आदेश जारी किया है।

3. भारतीय रेलवे ने लॉन्च की रेल मदद : एक एकीकृत ग्राहक सेवा समाधान
भारतीय रेलवे ने एक एकीकृत वन-स्टॉप समाधान “रेल मदद” लॉन्च किया है जिसमें राष्ट्रीय ट्रांसपोर्टर ने कई मौजूदा हेल्पलाइनों को एक में मिला दिया है जो विभिन्न उद्देश्यों के लिए उपयोग की जाती थीं। रेल मंत्रालय के टोल फ्री नंबर 139 का उपयोग सभी प्रकार की पूछताछ और शिकायत करने के लिए किया जा सकता है और हेल्पलाइन की सुविधा चौबीसों घंटे 12 भाषाओं में उपलब्ध है।

4. सामाजिक न्याय मंत्रालय ने लॉन्च किया ‘पीएम-दक्ष’ पोर्टल और मोबाइल ऐप
केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्री डॉ वीरेंद्र कुमार ने ‘पीएम-दक्ष’ नाम से एक पोर्टल और मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन का अनावरण किया है, जिसका उद्देश्य कौशल विकास योजनाओं को लक्षित समूहों के लिए सुलभ बनाना है। प्रधानमंत्री दक्ष का मतलब प्रधानमंत्री दक्ष और कुशल संपन्न हितग्राही योजना है।

5. हरियाणा सरकार ने MSMEs की मदद के लिए वॉलमार्ट वृद्धि के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर किए हस्ताक्षर
हरियाणा सरकार ने भारतीय MSMEs के उत्पादों को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजारों में ले जाने के लिए एक मार्ग बनाने के लिए ‘वॉलमार्ट वृद्धि’ और ‘हक़दर्शक’ के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

6. भारत-यूएई नौसेना ने किया द्विपक्षीय अभ्यास ‘जायेद तलवार 2021’
भारतीय नौसेना और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात की नौसेना ने 07 अगस्त, 2021 को अबू धाबी के तट पर द्विपक्षीय नौसैनिक अभ्यास ‘जायेद तलवार 2021′ का आयोजन किया। जायद तलवार 2021’ नौसैनिक अभ्यास का मुख्य उद्देश्य दोनों नौसेनाओं के बीच अंतःक्रियाशीलता और तालमेल को बढ़ाना था।

7. होमलेन के पहले ब्रांड एंबेसडर बने एमएस धोनी
होम इंटीरियर ब्रांड होमलेन ने महेंद्र सिंह धोनी के साथ इक्विटी पार्टनर और ब्रांड एंबेसडर के रूप में तीन साल की रणनीतिक साझेदारी की है। साझेदारी के हिस्से के रूप में, धोनी होमलेन में इक्विटी के मालिक होंगे और कंपनी के पहले ब्रांड एंबेसडर होंगे।

दिग्गज अभिनेता अनुपम श्याम का निधन हो गया है। अभिनेता को टीवी शो मन की आवाज: प्रतिज्ञा और स्लमडॉग मिलियनेयर और बैंडिट क्वीन जैसी फिल्मों में उनके काम के लिए जाना जाता था।

10. प्रसिद्ध केरल मूर्तिकार, कार्टूनिस्ट पी.एस. बनारजी का निधन
प्रसिद्ध केरल कार्टूनिस्ट, मूर्तिकार और लोक गायक, पी.एस. बनारजी का निधन हो गया है। ललितकला अकादमी फैलोशिप के प्राप्तकर्ता, बनारजी वेंगानुर और कोदुमों में अपनी अय्यंकाली और बुद्ध मूर्तियों के लिए जाने जाते थे। लोकप्रिय ‘थारका पन्नाले’ सहित कई लोक गीतों के गायन के लिए जाने जाने वाले, वह एक आईटी फर्म में ग्राफिक डिजाइनर के रूप में काम कर रहे थे।
