In Himachal Pradesh, 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was celebrated as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ at the historic Ridge Maidan in Shimla. Chief Minister Jairam Thakur garlanded portrait of Sardar Patel at the Ridge. He also administered the oath of national unity pledge to the gathering. An impressive march past was also taken out by the State Police on this occasion.
Kerala becomes best governed state
According to the Public Affairs Index-2020 released by the Public Affairs Centre in Bengaluru, Kerala was pronounced the best governed state in India while Uttar Pradesh ended at the bottom in the large states category. Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Bihar were at the bottom of the ranking, scoring negative points in the category.
India’s first ‘Tyre Park’ to come up in West Bengal
West Bengal will soon feature “India’s first” ‘Tyre Park’, where artworks made from scrap and defective parts will be on display. The Tyre Park, which will come up at Esplanade area, would have a small cafe where people can sit, relax and enjoy the craftsmanship made from tyres. The date of launch of the Tyre Park will be announced shortly.
PM Modi launches 1st-ever seaplane services from Statue of Unity to Sabarmati
India now has its first-ever seaplane services in Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a seaplane service between the Statue of Unity near Kevadiya in Gujarat’s Narmada district and Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad. The Prime Minister inaugurated the service by boarding the twin-engine plane from pond-3 close to Sardar Sarovar Dam.

Good news for motorcycle riders in India as Yamaha Motor India announced it has tied up with Amazon India to sell its range of apparels and accessories online. This is for the first time in India that the company would sell its apparels and accessories online.
Former James Bond actor Sean Connery passed away
Former James Bond actor Sean Connery has died aged 90. The legendary British actor starred in seven Bond films. Connery won an Oscar for supporting actor for his turn as a tough Irish cop in Brian De Palma’s 1987 ‘The Untouchables’.
