PM Modi to lay foundation stone of AIIMS at Rajkot in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS at Rajkot, Gujarat tomorrow morning through video conferencing. For the project, 201 acres of land has been allotted. It will be built at an estimated cost One thousand One hundred 95 crore rupees and is expected to be completed by mid of 2022.
Gujarat announces its new Solar Power Policy-2021
Gujarat Government has announced its new Solar Power Policy – 2021. As per the policy, any person, developer or industry can set up a solar project in its premises or land without any limit. A limit of only 50 per cent of sanctioned load/contract demand for industry to set up the solar project has been removed in the new policy.
Karnataka signs three agreements with different firms to impart skill training to youths for jobs abroad
The Deputy Chief Minister and minister for higher education Dr. C N Ashwath Narayana has informed that the state has signed three agreements with different firms to impart skill training to the youths of the state for fetching them jobs abroad.
Madhya Pradesh cabinet approves Dharma Swatantrata (Religious Freedom) Ordinance 2020
The Madhya Pradesh cabinet approved the Dharma Swatantrata (Religious Freedom) Ordinance 2020. State Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that the Ordinance has been sent to the Governor for assent. Under the provisions of the Ordinance forced conversion of a woman will be punishable for a term up to 10 years and minimum fine of Rs 50,000. Specific provisions are also made in the cases of religious conversion of minors, groups, or of those belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Govt approves ₹3,000 crore project for Paradip port
The government has approved a ₹3,000 crore project to turn Paradip Port into a world-class port by setting up a dock. The decision to set up a western dock was taken by the Union Cabinet in its meeting.
Cabinet approves Industrial Corridor nodes at Krishnapatnam and Tumakuru at estimated cost of ₹7,725 cr
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved to construct Industrial Corridor nodes in Krishnapatnam and Tumakuru at estimated cost of ₹7,725 cr. The Cabinet committee, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, has approved three proposals from DPIIT. The projects are said to generate employment opportunities for more than 2.8 lakh persons.
Govt approves export of indigenous Akash missile system
The government has approved the export of the indigenous Akash missile system. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has welcomed the move and said it will help India increase its revenue from defence export. Mr Singh said, under the AtmaNirbhar Bharat, India is growing in its capabilities of manufacturing wide variety of Defence platforms and missiles. Developed by DRDO, it is India’s first indigenously designed missile system and can target fighter jets, cruise missiles, drones and other aerial assets.
Cabinet clears modified scheme to enhance ethanol distillation capacity in country
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, CCEA has approved modified scheme to enhance ethanol distillation capacity in the country for producing 1st Generation, 1G ethanol from feed stocks such as cereals like rice, wheat, barley, corn and sorghum and sugarcane, sugar beet etc.
Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine approved for use in UK
The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has been approved for use in UK, with the first doses due to be given soon amid rising coronavirus cases. The government has ordered 100 million doses – enough to vaccinate 50 million people.
YES Bank appoints Niranjan Banodkar as new CFO, Adlakha to be new HR head
Yes Bank promoted two key senior management personnel as the chief financial officer and head of human resources. Both the appointments will be effective 1 January, the lender added. The private sector lender has promoted Niranjan Banodkar as the group chief financial officer (CFO) and Anurag Adlakha as the group chief human resources officer.
DRDO, Indian Navy conduct successful maiden test trial of SAHAYAK-NG
Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO along with Indian Navy conducted the successful maiden test trial of SAHAYAK-NG India’s first indigenously designed and developed Air Dropped Container from IL 38SD aircraft of Indian Navy off the coast of Goa. The trial was conducted by Indian Navy to enhance its operational logistics capabilities and provide critical engineering stores to ships which are deployed more than 2000 kilometres from the coast. It reduces the requirement of ships to come close to the coast to collect spares and stores.
