World Tuberculosis Day is observed on 24th March every year to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of Tuberculosis, TB, and to step up efforts to end the global epidemic. The day is observed to commemorate the anniversary of Dr. Robert Koch’s discovery of the TB bacteria in 1882. The theme of World TB Day 2021 – ‘The Clock is Ticking’.

Ladakh LG inaugurates first Solar Lift Irrigation Scheme of KREDA at Latoo Village
Ladakh Lieutenant Governor R K Mathur has inaugurated the first Solar Lift Irrigation Scheme of Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) at Latoo Village. This is the last Village on the LOC. The project is inspired by the Vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for solarising Ladakh as a model region by making it fully solarised and Carbon Neutral.

NATIONAL AFFAIRS

No postal Ballot facility for overseas electors in upcoming assembly elections
Government has said it will not be possible to extend postal ballot facility to overseas electors in the upcoming assembly elections. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the matter is still under discussions with the External Affairs Ministry to iron out the logistical challenges involved in the implementation of the proposal. The Election Commission has taken up the proposal to amend the Conduct of Election Rules to facilitate Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System for overseas electors.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal inaugurates Shaheed Bhagat Singh Smarak in New Delhi
The Union Minister of Education , Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, virtually inaugurated the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Smarak in New Delhi. The inauguration took place on the occasion of a programme organised by the University of Delhi on ‘Shaheed Diwas’ to pay homage and commemorate 90 years of martyrdom of our national icons of the Indian National Movement -Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru.

POWERGRID Launches Certified E-Tendering Portal “PRANIT”
State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has launched an “e-Tendering Portal” called ‘PRANIT’ to make tendering process more transparent. The portal ”PRANIT” will involve less paperwork and allow ease of operation, which in turn will make the tendering process more transparent. POWERGRID is the only organization in India to have an e-procurement solution on SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), complying with all applicable requirements relating to security and transparency as stipulated by STQC.

RBI Constitutes 5 member Standing External Advisory Committee under Shyamla Gopinath for evaluating applications for Universal Banks and SFBs
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has set up a five members standing external advisory committee (SEAC) to evaluate applications for “on-tap” licensing of universal banks and small finance banks (SFBs). The committee will be chaired by the former RBI deputy governor Shyamala Gopinath. The panel will have a tenure of three years.

Provident fund contribution limit raised to Rs 5 lakh per annum for tax-free interest
Government has raised the limit for tax exemption on interest earned on provident fund contributions by employees to 5 lakh per annum in specified cases as against 2.5 lakh rupees proposed in the Budget.

Well known Hindi writer Prof. Sharad Pagare will be conferred with the prestigious Vyas Samman – 2020 for his novel ‘Patliputru Ki Samragi.’ The Vyas Samman, started in 1991, is given by K K Birla Foundation for an outstanding literary work in Hindi authored by an Indian citizen published during the last 10 years. It carries an award of four lakh rupees along with a citation and plaque.

President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Rajendra Badamikar and Sushree Khazi Jayabunnisa Mohiuddin as Additional Judges of Karnataka High Court for a period of two years. The Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice has issued a notification in this regard.

तपेदिक, टीबी के विनाशकारी स्वास्थ्य, सामाजिक और आर्थिक परिणामों के बारे में सार्वजनिक जागरूकता बढ़ाने और वैश्विक महामारी को समाप्त करने के प्रयासों को बढ़ाने के लिए हर साल 24 मार्च को विश्व तपेदिक दिवस मनाया जाता है। 1882 में डॉ. रॉबर्ट कोच की टीबी बैक्टीरिया की खोज की वर्षगांठ मनाने के लिए मनाया जाता है। विश्व टीबी दिवस 2021 का विषय -‘ द क्लॉक इज टिकिंग ’।

लद्दाख एलजी लाटू गांव में KREDA की पहली सौर लिफ्ट सिंचाई योजना का उद्घाटन किया
लद्दाख के उपराज्यपाल आर के माथुर ने लाटू गांव में कारगिल अक्षय ऊर्जा विकास एजेंसी (KREDA) की पहली सौर लिफ्ट सिंचाई योजना का उद्घाटन किया। यह LOC पर अंतिम गाँव है। यह परियोजना प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के लद्दाख को एक मॉडल क्षेत्र के रूप में सोलराइजिंग और कार्बन न्यूट्रल बनाने के लिए एक मॉडल क्षेत्र के रूप में प्रेरित करती है।

आगामी विधानसभा चुनावों में विदेशी मतदाताओं के लिए कोई पोस्टल बैलेट सुविधा नहीं
सरकार ने कहा है कि आगामी विधानसभा चुनावों में विदेशी मतदाताओं को पोस्टल बैलट की सुविधा देना संभव नहीं होगा। लोकसभा में एक लिखित जवाब में, केंद्रीय मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने कहा कि प्रस्ताव के कार्यान्वयन में शामिल तार्किक चुनौतियों से निपटने के लिए विदेश मंत्रालय के साथ अभी भी चर्चा चल रही है। चुनाव आयोग ने विदेशी मतदाताओं के लिए इलेक्ट्रॉनिक ट्रांसमिटेड पोस्टल बैलट सिस्टम को सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए चुनाव नियमों के संशोधन का प्रस्ताव लिया है।

केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री, श्री रमेश पोखरियाल k निशंक ’ने नई दिल्ली में शहीद भगत सिंह स्मारक का उद्घाटन किया। भारतीय राष्ट्रीय आंदोलन के हमारे राष्ट्रीय प्रतीक-शहीद भगत सिंह, सुखदेव थापर और शिवराम राजगुरु की शहादत के 90 साल पूरे होने पर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि देने और उनकी याद में शहीद दिवस पर दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम के अवसर पर उद्घाटन हुआ।

राज्य के स्वामित्व वाली पावर ग्रिड कॉरपोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (POWERGRID) ने टेंडरिंग प्रक्रिया को और अधिक पारदर्शी बनाने के लिए Tend PRANIT ’नामक एक“ ई-टेंडरिंग पोर्टल ”लॉन्च किया है। पोर्टल “PRANIT” में कम कागजी कार्रवाई शामिल होगी और संचालन में आसानी होगी, जो बदले में निविदा प्रक्रिया को अधिक पारदर्शी बना देगा। POWERGRID भारत का एकमात्र संगठन है, जिसका SAP सप्लायर रिलेशनशिप मैनेजमेंट (SRM) पर ई-प्रोक्योरमेंट सॉल्यूशन है, जो STQC द्वारा निर्धारित सुरक्षा और पारदर्शिता से संबंधित सभी लागू आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप है।

यूनिवर्सल बैंक और एसएफबी के लिए आवेदनों के मूल्यांकन के लिए श्याम गोपीनाथ के अधीन आरबीआई ने 5 सदस्यीय स्थायी सलाहकार समिति का गठन किया
भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने सार्वभौमिक बैंकों और लघु वित्त बैंकों (SFB) के लाइसेंसिंग “ऑन-टैप” के लिए आवेदनों का मूल्यांकन करने के लिए बाह्य सलाहकार समिति (SEAC) के पांच सदस्यों की स्थापना की है। समिति की अध्यक्षता आरबीआई की पूर्व डिप्टी गवर्नर श्यामला गोपीनाथ करेंगी। पैनल का कार्यकाल तीन वर्ष का होगा।

कर-मुक्त ब्याज के लिए भविष्य निधि अंशदान की सीमा 5 लाख रुपये प्रति वर्ष
सरकार ने कर्मचारियों द्वारा भविष्य निधि अंशदान पर अर्जित ब्याज पर कर छूट की सीमा को निर्दिष्ट मामलों में 5 लाख प्रतिवर्ष किया है, जबकि बजट में प्रस्तावित 2.5 लाख रुपये है।
