International Mother Language Day is observed on 21 February. In 1999, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO had declared 21st February as International Mother Language Day. In Tennis, ninth-seeded Croat -Slovak pair Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek won the Australian Open Men’s doubles title. They defeated defending champion and fifth-seeded pair British Joe Salisbury and American Rajeev Ram 6-3, 6-4 on Road Laver Arena. This was their first Grand Slam as a team.

21 फरवरी को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मातृभाषा दिवस मनाया जाता है। 1999 में, संयुक्त राष्ट्र शैक्षिक, वैज्ञानिक और सांस्कृतिक संगठन, यूनेस्को ने 21 फरवरी को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मातृभाषा दिवस के रूप में घोषित किया था। इस वर्ष का विषय “शिक्षा और समाज में समावेश के लिए बहुभाषावाद को बढ़ावा देना” है।

भारत ने मालदीव के साथ 50 मिलियन डॉलर का रक्षा नियंत्रण रेखा समझौता किया
भारत ने मालदीव की सुरक्षा के लिए अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को दोहराया और रणनीतिक द्वीप राष्ट्र की समुद्री क्षमताओं को बढ़ावा देने के लिए इसके साथ $ 50 मिलियन की रक्षा लाइन (एलओसी) समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

टेनिस में नौवीं वरीयता प्राप्त क्रोएशिया -स्लोवाक की जोड़ी इवान डोडिग और फिलिप पॉलेसेक ने ऑस्ट्रेलियन ओपन मेंस डबल्स का खिताब जीता। उन्होंने गत चैंपियन और पांचवीं वरीयता प्राप्त जोड़ी को ब्रिटिश जो सैलिसबरी और अमेरिकी राजीव राम को रोड शो एरेना पर 6-3, 6-4 से हराया। एक टीम के रूप में यह उनका पहला ग्रैंड स्लैम था।
