Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurates eighth oil & gas production plant of the country in West Bengal
The eighth oil and gas production plant of the country was inaugurated in Ashoknagar in North 24-Parganas, in West Bengal by Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. While inaugurating the plant the Minister said the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation ONGC found mineral oil and natural gas in Ashoknagar in 2016, and although there were some problems in land acquisition at first, it was later resolved.

First-ever direct flight from Delhi to Shillong becomes operational
the first-ever direct flight from Delhi to Shillong became operational. Transport Minister, Sniawbhalang Dhar travelled in the FlyBig flight and landed at Umroi, Airport. FlyBig has partnered with the State Government to operate direct flights between Delhi-Shillong and Shillong-Delhi.

Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar releases Status of Leopard in India 2018 report
Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar  released the Status of Leopard in India 2018 report. Mr Javadekar announced that India now has 12,852 leopards. He said, more than 60 per cent increase has been recorded in the leopard population over the previous estimate which was conducted in 2014.

All flights originating from UK to India to be suspended till 31st December
India has suspended all flights originating from the United Kingdom to the country till 31st December 2020, amid growing global concerns over a highly infectious new strain of the Coronavirus.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a Virtual Summit with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc. The two leaders reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations, discussions on regional and global issues of mutual interest. Post-pandemic economic revival was also on the agenda. India and Vietnam have signed seven new agreements on areas such as defence, scientific research, nuclear and renewable energy, petrochemicals and other diverse subjects like cancer treatment.

Google launches insights tools for travel industry
Google announced the launch of a dedicated website that provides demand trends to travel sector participants including hotels, travel startup, and booking agents. Called Travel Insights with Google, the website is aimed at helping the sector better understand the pent-up demand and leverage insights from key data led tools for businesses to position themselves for recovery.

Veteran Congress leader Motilal Vora passes away
Veteran Congress leader Motilal Vora passed away at a private hospital in New Delhi. He was 93. Motilal Vora was elected to the Madhya Pradesh Assembly six times and served twice as Chief Minister of the State. He was Member of Rajya Sabha four times and the Lok Sabha for one term. He also served as Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Civil Aviation.
