Mission Gramodaya launched in Madhya Pradesh
In Madhya Pradesh, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have launched the Mission Gramodaya in the state. Under the Gramodaya mission, besides providing housing facilities in rural areas, basic and fundamental infrastructure will also be expanded. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar while addressing the state-level programme of Gramodaya Mission virtually said that rural development schemes, especially Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana are being effectively implemented in Madhya Pradesh.

Insurance Amendment Bill, 2021 passed in Rajya Sabha; FDI limit increased from 49 to 74 %
The Rajya Sabha has passed the Insurance (Amendment) Bill, 2021. It seeks to amend the Insurance Act, 1938 which will increase the limit of foreign investment allowed in Indian insurance companies. The Bill provides to increase the foreign direct investment limit from existing 49 percent to 74 percent. It also has a provision for removal of restrictions on ownership and control of the insurance companies.

AIM, NITI Aayog, AWS announce new initiatives to boost innovation, entrepreneurship in India
Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, and Amazon Web Services today announced new initiatives to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in India. This will be done by empowering school students with cloud computing skills, and enabling entrepreneurs to build innovative education technology solutions on the cloud. Atal Innovation Mission will leverage Amazon Web Services Educate, which is Amazon’s global program that provides resources for students and educators to accelerate cloud-related learning.

World Bank to provide USD 500 mn for COVID-19 vaccination to Bangladesh
The World Bank has approved USD 500 million financing to help Bangladesh vaccinate 54 million people against COVID 19. The additional financing to the COVID 19 Emergency Response and Pandemic Preparedness Project will help Bangladesh in procuring vaccines, expanding storage facilities and distribute it to 31 percent of its population. It will help the Bangladesh government in achieving the target of vaccinating 40 percent of the population against COVID 19 in the first phase. The project will also help in providing training and capacity building for vaccination in the country.

Italy signs International Solar Alliance amended Framework Agreement with India
Italy has signed the amended Framework Agreement of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) with India. The European country signed the ISA framework agreement after an amendments to the Framework Agreement of the ISA entered into force. The amendments of the ISA framework agreement allows all the member states of the United Nations to join the ISA grouping, including those lying beyond the tropics.

Kuldiep Singh appointed as Chief of Central Reserve Police Force
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed senior IPS officer Kuldiep Singh as the Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Kuldiep Singh, a 1986 batch IPS officer of the West Bengal cadre, is presently the Special DG, CRPF. The appointment of Singh as DG of CRPF will be effective from March 01, 2021, up to September 30, 2022 i.e. date of his superannuation.

मध्यप्रदेश में मिशन ग्रामोदय का शुभारंभ

कुलदीप सिंह को केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल का प्रमुख नियुक्त किया गया
मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति ने वरिष्ठ आईपीएस अधिकारी कुलदीप सिंह को केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (सीआरपीएफ) का महानिदेशक (डीजी) नियुक्त किया है। वेस्ट बंगाल कैडर के 1986 बैच के आईपीएस अधिकारी कुलदीप सिंह वर्तमान में स्पेशल डीजी, सीआरपीएफ हैं। सिंह की सीआरपीएफ के महानिदेशक के रूप में नियुक्ति 01 मार्च, 2021 से 30 सितंबर, 2022 तक प्रभावी होगी यानी उनकी सेवानिवृत्ति की तारीख।
