PM Modi inaugurates Ennore Thiruvallur Madurai Tuticorin Ramanathapuram pipeline project
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ennore Thiruvallur Madurai Tuticorin Ramanathapuram pipeline project as part of the one Nation one gas grid concept. The 143 kilometer of the Ennore Thiruvallur Bengaluru Puducherry Nagapattinam Madurai Tuticorin Natural gas pipeline has been laid at a cost of Rs 700 crore. Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the Cauvery Basin Refinery at Nagapattinam. The project will help utilise gas from ONGC fields and deliver natural gas as feedstock to industries and other commercial customers.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launches Pilot Pey Jal Survekshan
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched a Pilot Pey Jal Survekshan under Jal Jeevan Mission- Urban, JJM-U. Secretary Housing and Urban Affairs Durga Shanker Mishra informed that it will be conducted in cities to ascertain equitable distribution of water, reuse of wastewater and mapping of water bodies with respect to quantity and quality of water through a challenge process. The total outlay proposed for JJM (U) is 2 lakh 87 thousand crore rupees which includes 10 thousand crore rupees for continuing financial support to AMRUT Mission.
Union Cabinet approves production-linked incentive scheme for telecom sector
The Union Cabinet today approved a production-linked incentive scheme for the telecom sector. Electronic and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, the production-linked incentive worth Rs 12,195 Crore has been cleared for the telecom sector. He said, this will create 40 thousand direct and indirect employment. Support under the Scheme will be provided to companies and entities engaged in manufacturing of specified telecom and networking products in India.
Govt approves over ₹12,000-cr PLI scheme for telecom equipment
The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Production Linked Incentive (PLI) norms for the telecom and network equipment manufacturing in order to boost local manufacturing of the components, said Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad. The PLI scheme for the telecom sector is worth ₹12,195 crore over 5 years. The scheme will be implemented from April 1.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launches e-Chhawani portal
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched e-Chhawani portal. Launching the portal, Mr Singh said, residents of Cantonment areas can register their complaints regarding civic issues and resolve them while sitting at home. e-Chhawani project aims to provide online municipal services to more than 20 lakh citizens across 62 Cantonment Boards through a multi-tenancy central platform. Through this portal, online application for renewal of leases, online registration of births and deaths and online application for water and sewerage connection will be very simpler.
Government makes FASTag mandatory on all National Highways
Government has made FASTag mandatory on the National Highways. All lanes in the fee plazas on National Highways were declared as FASTag lane midnight last night. As per NH Fee Rules 2008, any vehicle not fitted with FASTag or vehicle without valid, functional FASTag, entering into the FASTag lane of the fee plaza will have to pay a fee equivalent to two times of the fee applicable to that category. FASTag is a RFID tag which is linked with a payment instrument and can be easily affixed on the windscreen of any vehicle.
Cabinet approves Juvenile Justice law amendments, magistrates to get more power
The Union Cabinet approved amendments to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015, increasing the role of district magistrates and additional district magistrates. Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani said in every district, the district magistrate and the additional district magistrate will get the power to monitor functions of agencies responsible for the implementation of the Act.

India and Russia held bilateral consultations on UNSC issues in Moscow at the DG level. The Russian delegation was led by Director of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Peter Ilichev. Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Demeke Mekonnen Hassen arrived in New Delhi yesterday on a four-day official visit to India. Mr Hassen inaugurated the new Chancery and Residence at Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi along with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
Cabinet approves trade pact between India and Mauritius
The Union Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved signing of a comprehensive economic cooperation agreement (CECPA) between India and Mauritius to liberalize norms and improve trade between the two nations. The CECPA, which is kind of a free trade pact, would cover 310 export items for India, including foodstuff and beverages, agricultural products, base metals, electricals and electronic items.

War veteran Major General (retired) Basant Kumar Mahapatra, who had participated in major battles including the 1962 Indo-China war, and 1965 and 1971 India-Pakistan war, has passed away. He was 87. He was popularly known as ‘Tank Man’.
Former Governor of Bihar and Jharkhand M Rama Jois passes away
Former Governor of Bihar and Jharkhand M Rama Jois who had served as the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court has passed away. He was 89 years old. Retired Justice Rama Jois had also served as a Rajya Sabha member. During the Emergency he was imprisoned at Bengaluru along with Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A noted jurist, he wrote several books on ancient Indian law, Habeas Corpus law, Raja Dharma and Bharathiya way to lead purposeful life.

पीएम मोदी एन्नोर थिरुवल्लूर मदुरै तूतीकोरिन रामनाथपुरम पाइपलाइन प्रोजेक्ट का उद्घाटन किया
प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने वन नेशन वन गैस ग्रिड अवधारणा के हिस्से के रूप में एन्नोर थिरुवल्लूर मदुरै तूतीकोरिन रामनाथपुरम पाइपलाइन परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया। एन्नोर थिरुवल्लूर बेंगलुरु पुदुचेरी नागापट्टिनम मदुरै तूतीकोरिन प्राकृतिक गैस पाइपलाइन का 143 किलोमीटर का हिस्सा 700 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनाया गया है। प्रधानमंत्री ने नागपट्टनम में कावेरी बेसिन रिफाइनरी की आधारशिला भी रखी। यह परियोजना ओएनजीसी क्षेत्रों से गैस का उपयोग करने और उद्योगों और अन्य वाणिज्यिक ग्राहकों को फीडस्टॉक के रूप में प्राकृतिक गैस वितरित करने में मदद करेगी।
आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्रालय ने “पे जल सर्वेक्षण” शुरू किया
आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्रालय ने जल जीवन मिशन- शहरी, जेजेएम-यू के तहत एक पे जल सर्वेक्षण शुरू किया है। सचिव आवास और शहरी मामलों के दुर्गा शंकर मिश्रा ने बताया कि यह शहरों में एक चुनौतीपूर्ण प्रक्रिया के माध्यम से पानी के समान वितरण, अपशिष्ट जल का पुन: उपयोग और जल निकायों की मात्रा और गुणवत्ता के संबंध में मानचित्रण का पता लगाने के लिए आयोजित किया जाएगा। JJM (U) के लिए प्रस्तावित कुल परिव्यय 2 लाख 87 हजार करोड़ रुपये है जिसमें AMRUT मिशन को निरंतर वित्तीय सहायता के लिए 10 हजार करोड़ रुपये शामिल हैं।
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने दूरसंचार क्षेत्र के लिए उत्पादन-लिंक्ड प्रोत्साहन योजना को मंजूरी दी
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने आज दूरसंचार क्षेत्र के लिए उत्पादन से जुड़ी प्रोत्साहन योजना को मंजूरी दे दी। इलेक्ट्रॉनिक और आईटी मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने कहा, दूरसंचार क्षेत्र के लिए 12,195 करोड़ रुपये के उत्पादन-जुड़े प्रोत्साहन को मंजूरी दी गई है। उन्होंने कहा, इससे 40 हजार प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष रोजगार पैदा होंगे। योजना के तहत भारत में निर्दिष्ट दूरसंचार और नेटवर्किंग उत्पादों के निर्माण में लगी कंपनियों और संस्थाओं को सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।
दूरसंचार उपकरणों के लिए सरकार 12,000 करोड़ रुपये की पीएलआई योजना को मंजूरी दी
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने बुधवार को केंद्रीय इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने कहा कि दूरसंचार और नेटवर्क उपकरण निर्माण के लिए उत्पादन लिंक्ड इंसेंटिव (पीएलआई) मानदंडों को मंजूरी दी गई है। दूरसंचार क्षेत्र के लिए पीएलआई योजना 5 वर्षों में ₹ 12,195 करोड़ की है। यह योजना 1 अप्रैल से लागू की जाएगी।
रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने ई-छावनी पोर्टल लॉन्च किया
रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने ई-छावनी पोर्टल लॉन्च किया। पोर्टल को लॉन्च करते हुए, श्री सिंह ने कहा, छावनी क्षेत्रों के निवासी नागरिक समस्याओं के बारे में अपनी शिकायतें दर्ज कर सकते हैं और उन्हें घर बैठे हल कर सकते हैं। ई-छावनी परियोजना का उद्देश्य बहु-किरायेदार केंद्रीय मंच के माध्यम से 62 छावनी बोर्डों में 20 लाख से अधिक नागरिकों को ऑनलाइन नगरपालिका सेवाएं प्रदान करना है। इस पोर्टल के माध्यम से, पट्टों के नवीनीकरण के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन, जन्म और मृत्यु का ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण और पानी और सीवरेज कनेक्शन के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन बहुत सरल होगा।
सरकार सभी राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों पर FASTag को अनिवार्य कर दिया
सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों पर FASTag को अनिवार्य कर दिया है। राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों के शुल्क पट्टों में सभी गलियों को कल रात आधी रात को फास्टैग लेन के रूप में घोषित किया गया था। एनएच शुल्क नियम 2008 के अनुसार, किसी भी वाहन को FASTag या बिना वैध, कार्यात्मक FASTag के वाहन के साथ नहीं लगाया गया है, शुल्क प्लाजा के FASTag लेन में प्रवेश करने पर उस श्रेणी के लिए लागू शुल्क के दो गुना के बराबर शुल्क का भुगतान करना होगा। FASTag एक RFID टैग है जो एक भुगतान उपकरण के साथ जुड़ा हुआ है और इसे आसानी से किसी भी वाहन के विंडस्क्रीन पर चिपका दिया जा सकता है।
कैबिनेट ने किशोर न्याय कानून में संशोधन को मंजूरी दी
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने जिला मजिस्ट्रेटों और अतिरिक्त जिला मजिस्ट्रेटों की भूमिका को बढ़ाते हुए किशोर न्याय (बच्चों की देखभाल और संरक्षण) अधिनियम 2015 में संशोधन को मंजूरी दी। महिला और बाल विकास मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी ने कहा कि हर जिले में जिला मजिस्ट्रेट और अतिरिक्त जिला मजिस्ट्रेट को अधिनियम के कार्यान्वयन के लिए जिम्मेदार एजेंसियों के कार्यों की निगरानी करने की शक्ति मिलेगी।

भारत-पाक युद्ध के अनुभवी सेवानिवृत्त मेजर जनरल बीके महापात्रा का निधन
युद्ध के अनुभवी मेजर जनरल (सेवानिवृत्त) बसंत कुमार महापात्रा, जिन्होंने 1962 के भारत-चीन युद्ध और 1965 और 1971 के भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध सहित प्रमुख लड़ाइयों में भाग लिया था। वह 87 वर्ष के थे। उन्हें ‘टैंक मैन’ के नाम से जाना जाता था।
बिहार और झारखंड के पूर्व राज्यपाल एम राम जोस का निधन
बिहार और झारखंड के पूर्व राज्यपाल एम राम जोस जिन्होंने पंजाब और हरियाणा उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में कार्य किया था, का निधन हो गया है। वह 89 वर्ष के थे। सेवानिवृत्त न्यायमूर्ति राम जोस ने राज्यसभा सदस्य के रूप में भी काम किया था। आपातकाल के दौरान वह अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के साथ बेंगलुरु में कैद थे। एक प्रसिद्ध न्यायविद्, उन्होंने प्राचीन भारतीय कानून, हैबियस कॉर्पस कानून, राजा धर्म और भारथिया पर उद्देश्यपूर्ण जीवन जीने के लिए कई किताबें लिखीं।
