Armistice Day (Remembrance Day) is observed on November 11
Armistice Day is observed on 11 November and is also known as Láemistice de la Premiere Guerre Mondiale in France. This day is observed in the commemoration of the end of World War I. Some countries also call it Remembrance Day. Let us tell you that on 11 November 1918, an armistice was signed between the Allied Forces and Germany at Compiegne in northern France.
Madhya Pradesh launches unique initiative- local4Diwali hashtag
In Madhya Pradesh, the Handicrafts Development Corporation has launched a unique initiative- local4Diwali hashtag under the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign in the festive season. The objective of this campaign is to encourage the products of local artisans to make them self-reliant. The sale of locally produced earthen lamps, cotton and silk handloom textiles is being promoted by the Handicrafts Development Corporation under the Local4Diwali hashtag.
Karnataka makes mandatory for post graduate medical students to serve in rural areas
Karnataka Health and Medical Education minister Dr. K Sudhakar has said it will be mandatory for the post graduate medical students to serve in rural areas. The minister said 70 percent of the population resides in rural India and doctors must serve them. He further added that those who study abroad must return to the motherland and serve their own people.
PM to inaugurate future-ready Ayurveda institutions at Jamnagar and Jaipur
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA) at Jamnagar and National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) at Jaipur via video conferencing. These institutions are expected to play global leadership roles in the growth and development of Ayurveda in the 21st Century.
Textiles ministry launches Local for Diwali campaign to support local weavers and artisans
The Ministry of Textiles has launched a campaign Local for Diwali. Textile Minister Smriti Irani has appealed to the people to celebrate Diwali by buying and gifting local textiles and handicraft items to support local weavers and artisans.
Cabinet approves PLI worth ₹2 lakh cr for 10 sectors to boost manufacturing
Union Cabinet approved a proposal to provide production-linked incentives of about ₹2 lakh crore over five years to create jobs and boost manufacturing in the country, the finance minister said. The incentives will be given to manufacturers in 10 sectors including automobiles and auto parts, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and food products to attract investment
Govt approves ₹15,000 cr to pharma sector to boost local drug production
The Cabinet announced production linked incentives for 10 sectors including auto, pharmaceuticals and textiles worth ₹2 lakh crore in a bid to boost manufacturing, make India self reliant and generate employment. India possesses the complete ecosystem for development and manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and a robust ecosystem of allied industries.
PM Modi to co-chair 17th ASEAN-India Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc will co-chair the 17th ASEAN-India Summit. The leaders of all ten ASEAN Member States will virtually participate in the Summit. The Leaders will discuss ways to further strengthen ASEAN-India engagement and in this context will note the adoption of ASEAN-India Plan of Action (2021-2025).
Indian-American Kash Patel named Chief of Staff to Acting US Defence Secretary
The Pentagon has announced that Indian-American Kash Patel has been named as the Chief of Staff to the Acting US Defence Secretary Chris Miller. Kash Patel, currently on the National Security Council staff, has been named by Acting Secretary Miller as his Chief of Staff. The Indian-American replaced Jen Stewart, who had resigned earlier in the day.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu virtually presented the Second National Water Awards. Tamil Nadu which bagged the Best State Award. Maharashtra secured the second and Rajasthan got the third prize.
