Uttar Pradesh To Reduce Syllabus For Classes 10, 12
The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday decided to reduce the syllabus of Classes 10 and 12 in its schools in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. “The government has taken an important decision to reduce the syllabus of the state secondary education board classes by 30 per cent due to the coronavirus pandemic”.

Uttar Pradesh To Conduct Only Final Year, Semester Exams In State Universities
Following the UGC and Union education ministry guidelines, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to hold only final year or semester examinations in all state universities. The government, in the wake of a spike in corornavirus cases in the state, decided to cancel all intermediate or first and second year examinations. All undergraduate and postgraduate exams, except those of final year or last semester, have been cancelled.

EC pauses postal ballot for 65+ voters in Bihar polls
The Election Commission on Thursday hit pause on a government rule that would have allowed voters over 65 years to use postal ballots to vote in the Bihar assembly elections, citing challenges and constraints to implement this rule. The postal ballot rule would, however, be applicable for voters over the age of 80, disabled or those suffering from coronavirus. “Commission has already limited the number of electors to one thousand for each polling station for ease of voting, especially for elderly and vulnerable sections of electors, in Covid-19 situations”.

Amazon India Demands Product Listings Have Country Of Origin By August 10
Amazon.com’s India unit has told sellers they must provide country of origin information on product listings by August 10, according to an email sent by the e-commerce giant to sellers, against a backdrop of brewing anti-China sentiment. The trade ministry has called for e-commerce sites to name the country of origin beside product listings as Prime Minister Narendra Modi pushes for a self-reliant nation. In addition, trader groups have called for a boycott of Chinese-made products and New Delhi last month banned 59 Chinese-origin apps and held up Chinese-made goods at ports after a violent border clash between India and China.

The country’s “first cable-stayed” Indian Railways bridge – the magnificent Anji Khad Bridge will soon connect Katra and Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir. The country’s first cable-stayed railway bridge is being developed by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, which is a Government of India undertaking. The cable-stayed railway bridge is a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project.
