UGC NET is one of the most competitive exams in India for JRF job. UGC NET – National Eligibility Test is conducted twice in a year for selection of deserving candidates for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian Govt. Universities and Colleges. NTA UGC NET exam is conducted in the month of June & December every year. As per a recent announcement by the HRD Ministry, the examination will now be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). In fact, UGC NET 2021 June session would be the third exam of the agency (NTA).

UGC NET is one of the popular exam in India. All candidates who have a Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC. Last Year approx. 10.34 lakh candidates registered and 7.93 Lakh candidates appeared for UGC NET CBT (Computer Based Exam) exam to become a lecturer or researcher in their respective fields. Who is eligible for the NET exam? Candidates who passed master degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) can apply for UGC NET. Candidates in the final year of their Master’s Degree are also eligible.
What is the salary of a UGC NET qualified person? Candidate qualified UGC NET will get minimum Rs. 35,000 pm initially.
What is the age limit for the NET exam? The age limit has been extended from 28 to 30 years for JRF from last year. No age limit for Lectureship.
Can graduates apply for NET? Yes, graduates can apply for UGC NET, but at the time of result, you must have complete your post-graduation..
What is the pass mark for the UGC NET exam? Minimum 40% marks are required to qualify the exam. After getting 40% marks, the separate cutoff will be published for different subjects.
How many times the NET exam is conducted in a year? It is conducted twice in a year.
Can IGNOU students apply for NET? Yes, IGNOU students can also apply for UGC NET.
