SSC has already concluded 2018 Tier 1 exam for the vacancies of LDC, JSA, PA/SA, DEO, & DEO Grade “A‟. Total 29.68 lakh students registered for 2018 Tier 1 exam, in which only 13.17 lakh appeared for the Tier 1 exam. The exam took place in 25 shifts in 361 exam centres across 146 cities.

Every year the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Higher Secondary Level- CHSL, 10+2 Exam for various positions like:

  • Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants or PA/SA
  • Data Entry Operator or DEO
  • Lower Divisional Clerk or LDC

When will  official notification release? The 2020 official notification is released in the month of November.
When will Tier-I exam be conducted? 2020 Tier-I exam was scheduled to be conducted from 17th to 28th March 2020 but due to COVID-19 outbreak in India, it has been postponed.
How many vacancies are released ? 2019 Vacancy details has not been released with the official notification. The post wise vacancies will be released soon. While 2018 recruitment came up with 5789 vacancies.
What are the different posts available ?

Exam is conducted for the recruitment of

  • Data Entry Operators (DEO)
  • Lower Division Clerk (LDC’s)
  • Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
  • Postal/Sorting Assistant.
What is the pay scale under recruitment?

The SSC CHSL salary for various posts are as follows:

  • LDC – (GP – 1900)
  • Postal Assistant – (GP – 2400)
Is there any negative marking? Yes, for every wrong answer 0.50 marks will get deduced.
I have 45% marks in 12th Class, can I fill the application form? Central Govt. recruitment is based on the merit system, for written exam is conducted. Fewer marks in 12th do not create any problem. There are no such specific criteria in SSC CHSL recruitment, you can go ahead.
Are there fixed timings for different sections in Tier-I Exam? No, There is no sectional timing in SSC CHSL Exam. The total duration of Tier-I exam is 60 minutes.
