Today’s “Phrase of the Day” is “come to terms with” and it is a phrase meaning “to accept oneself to something painful/sad/difficult (situation); reconcile oneself to, come to accept, become accustomed to, adjust to”.

Example Sentence:

  • Even if Joe Biden is ultimately sworn in as president, the fact that Trump was not booed off the greatest stage in world politics in disgrace will be hard for Biden’s supporters to come to terms with.
  • She had come to terms with the tragedies in her life.
