GRAM UJALA programme launched in Varanasi
The Union Minister of State (I/C) for Power & New and Renewable Energy, RK Singh, launched the GRAM UJALA programme in Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh. Under this program Convergence Energy Services Limited, CESL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited -EESL, will distribute high quality LED bulbs, at an affordable cost in rural areas. Under the scheme One crore 50 lakh LED bulbs will be distributed in phase 1 resulting in energy savings of 2025 million KWh/year and CO2 reductions of 1.65 million T CO2/year.

Andhra Pradesh CM unveiled Kurnool Airport
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has inaugurated the Kurnool Airport located at Orvakal and named it after the first ever freedom fighter of the country, Uyyalavada Narasimha Reddy, as a tribute to him.

World’s first Ship Tunnel to be built in Norway
The Norwegian Coastal Administration has received the green signal to start working on the construction of world’s first tunnel, being built exclusively for ships. The tunnel is dubbed as “Stad Ship Tunnel” and would be built under the mountainous Stadhavet peninsula in northwestern Norway. The 1.7 km tunnel will be able to handle ships of up to 16,000 tonnes and give ships a safer passage through the treacherous Stadhavet Sea.

वाराणसी में GRAM UJALA कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ
केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री (I / C) विद्युत और नवीन और नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा, आरके सिंह ने उत्तर प्रदेश के वाराणसी में GRAM UJALA कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ किया। इस कार्यक्रम के तहत, कन्वर्जेंस एनर्जी सर्विसेज लिमिटेड, CESL, एनर्जी एफिशिएंसी सर्विसेज लिमिटेड -EESL की पूर्ण स्वामित्व वाली सहायक कंपनी, ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में सस्ती कीमत पर उच्च गुणवत्ता वाले एलईडी बल्ब वितरित करेगी। योजना के तहत चरण 1 में एक करोड़ 50 लाख एलईडी बल्ब वितरित किए जाएंगे, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप 2025 मिलियन किलोवाट / वर्ष की ऊर्जा बचत होगी और 1.65 मिलियन टी सीओ 2 / वर्ष की CO2 कटौती होगी।

आंध्र प्रदेश के सीएम ने कुरनूल एयरपोर्ट का अनावरण किया
आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री, वाई एस जगन मोहन रेड्डी ने ओरवाकल स्थित कुरनूल हवाई अड्डे का उद्घाटन किया है और देश के पहले स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, उयालवाड़ा नरसिम्हा रेड्डी के नाम पर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि दी है।

भारतीय रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह और दक्षिण कोरियाई रक्षा मंत्री सुह वुक ने दिल्ली कैंट में इंडो-कोरियन द्विपक्षीय मैत्री पार्क का उद्घाटन किया। यह फ्रेंडशिप पार्क कोरियाई युद्ध के दौरान 1950 से 53 के दौरान भारतीय शांति सैनिकों के योगदान को मनाने के लिए बनाया गया है।

नॉर्वे में बनने वाली दुनिया की पहली शिप टनल
नार्वे के तटीय प्रशासन को दुनिया की पहली सुरंग के निर्माण पर काम शुरू करने के लिए हरी झंडी मिल गई है, जो विशेष रूप से जहाजों के लिए बनाई जा रही है। सुरंग को “स्टैड शिप सुरंग” के रूप में डब किया गया है और इसे उत्तर-पश्चिमी नॉर्वे में पहाड़ी स्टैडवेट प्रायद्वीप के तहत बनाया जाएगा। 1.7 किमी की सुरंग 16,000 टन तक के जहाजों को संभालने में सक्षम होगी और जहाजों को विश्वासघाती स्टैडहेट सागर के माध्यम से सुरक्षित मार्ग दे सकती है।

प्रख्यात पत्रकार और लेखक अनिल धरकर का निधन
प्रख्यात पत्रकार और लेखक अनिल धरकर का निधन। वह 74 वर्ष के थे। उनका दिल की बीमारी का इलाज चल रहा था। अनिल धरकर मुंबई अंतर्राष्ट्रीय साहित्य महोत्सव के संस्थापक और निदेशक थे।
