1. World Organ Donation Day is observed on 13 August
World Organ Donation Day is celebrated every year on August 13. The day is celebrated to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation and motivate people to donate organs after death. The day provides an opportunity to all to come ahead and pledge to donate their precious organs because one organ donor can save up to eight lives.

2. International Lefthanders Day is observed on 13 August
The International Left-Handers Day is observed on August 13 every year to celebrate the uniqueness and differences of the left-handers and raise awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of being left-handed in a predominantly right-handed world.

3. Indore declared India’s first ‘Water Plus’ certified city
India’s cleanest city, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, has achieved another feat of being declared as the country’s first ‘water plus’ certified city, under the Swachh Survekshan 2021. Swachh Survekshan is an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India launched as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

4. Kakori Train Conspiracy now renamed to Kakori Train Action
The Uttar Pradesh government has renamed a landmark freedom movement event as Kakori Train Action while paying tributes to the revolutionaries who were hanged for robbing a train at Kakori to buy weapons in 1925. The new name was used in official communications to refer to the event, usually described as the ‘Kakori train robbery’ or the ‘Kakori train conspiracy’.

5. Youth Affairs, Sports Minister launches nationwide programme of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 in New Delhi
Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur today launched the nationwide programme of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. The programme was organized throughout the country, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

6. Government notifies Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules-2021
The government has notified the Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules-2021, under which single-use plastic items have been banned till the year 2022. Pollution from single-use plastic items has become a major environmental challenge.

7. India & Saudi Arabia set to conduct “AL-MOHED AL-HINDI 2021” exercise
The sea phase of the three day long maiden bilateral exercise ‘Al-Mohed Al – Hindi’ between Indian Navy and Royal Saudi Naval Force commenced yesterday off the coast of Al Jubail. Indian Navy participated with its indigenously built stealth destroyer Kochi with two integral Sea King helicopters.

8. IAF builds one of the world’s highest mobile ATC towers in Ladakh
The Indian Air Force has built one of the world’s highest mobile air traffic control towers at the Advanced Landing Ground in Ladakh. The ATC controls operations of the fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters operating in the eastern Ladakh region.

1. विश्व अंग दान दिवस 13 अगस्त को मनाया जाता है
विश्व अंग दान दिवस हर साल 13 अगस्त को मनाया जाता है। यह दिन अंग दान के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने और लोगों को मृत्यु के बाद अंग दान करने के लिए प्रेरित करने के लिए मनाया जाता है। यह दिन सभी को आगे आने और अपने कीमती अंगों को दान करने का संकल्प लेने का अवसर प्रदान करता है क्योंकि एक अंग दाता आठ लोगों की जान बचा सकता है।

2. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वामपंथी दिवस 13 अगस्त को मनाया जाता है
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वामपंथी दिवस हर साल 13 अगस्त को बाएं हाथ के लोगों की विशिष्टता और मतभेदों का जश्न मनाने और मुख्य रूप से दाएं हाथ की दुनिया में बाएं हाथ के होने के फायदे और नुकसान के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए मनाया जाता है।

3. इंदौर भारत का पहला ‘वाटर प्लस’ प्रमाणित शहर घोषित
भारत के सबसे स्वच्छ शहर, मध्य प्रदेश के इंदौर ने स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण 2021 के तहत देश के पहले ‘वाटर प्लस’ प्रमाणित शहर के रूप में घोषित होने की एक और उपलब्धि हासिल की है। स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण पूरे शहरों और कस्बों में सफाई, स्वच्छता और स्वच्छता का वार्षिक सर्वेक्षण है और भारत के स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के रूप में लॉन्च किया गया।

4. काकोरी ट्रेन साजिश का नाम बदलकर अब काकोरी ट्रेन एक्शन
उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने 1925 में हथियार खरीदने के लिए काकोरी में एक ट्रेन को लूटने के आरोप में फांसी पर लटकाए गए क्रांतिकारियों को श्रद्धांजलि देते हुए एक ऐतिहासिक स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन कार्यक्रम का नाम काकोरी ट्रेन एक्शन रखा। इसे आमतौर पर ‘काकोरी ट्रेन डकैती’ या ‘काकोरी ट्रेन साजिश’ के रूप में वर्णित किया जाता है।

5. खेल मंत्री अनुराग ठाकुर ने नई दिल्ली में फिट इंडिया फ्रीडम रन 2.0 के राष्ट्रव्यापी कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ किया
केन्‍द्रीय खेल और युवा कार्य मंत्री अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने आज नयी दिल्ली के मेजर ध्यानचंद नेशनल स्टेडियम से दूसरे फिट इंडिया फ्रीडम रन के राष्ट्रव्यापी कार्यक्रम की शुरूआत की। यह आजादी के अमृत महोत्‍सव के अवसर पर आयोजित किया जा रहा है।

6. सरकार ने प्लास्टिक कचरा प्रबंधन संशोधन नियम-2021 अधिसूचित किए
सरकार ने प्लास्टिक कचरा प्रबंधन संशोधन नियम-2021 अधिसूचित क‍िए हैं, जिनके तहत वर्ष 2022 तक एकल उपयोग वाली प्लास्टिक वस्तुओं पर प्रतिबंध लगा गया है। एकल उपयोग प्लास्टिक वस्तुओं से प्रदूषण एक बड़ी पर्यावरणीय चुनौती बन गई है।

7. भारतीय नौसेना और रॉयल सऊदी नेवल फोर्स के बीच तीन दिवसीय पहला द्विपक्षीय अभ्यास कल अल-जुबैल तट पर शुरू हुआ
