After Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand to impose lockdown on weekends
In order to break the chain of the highly contagious coronavirus in the state, the Uttarakhand government led by Trivendra Singh Rawat has decided to impose complete lockdowns on weekends in the state.

Delhi zoo installs CCTV cameras for 24×7 monitoring of animal behaviour
The Delhi zoo has started installing CCTV cameras on its premises, including in the animal enclosures, for a round-the-clock monitoring of animal behaviour and to prevent the visitors from violating rules. Around 230 CCTV cameras to be installed in the first phase, CCTV cameras will be used to monitor animal behaviour round the clock and sort out any issues immediately and also prevent the visitors from flouting rules.

Indian Railways to launch 1st set of private trains by 2023, all 151 by 2027
The first set of 12 private trains will be introduced in 2023, followed by 45 more in the next fiscal, according to an initial timeline drawn by the railways which plans to roll out all 151 such train services by 2027. As part of the plan for private trains, the railways has planned to introduce 12 trains in 2022-23, 45 in 2023-2024, 50 in 2025-26 and 44 more in the next fiscal, taking the total number of trains to 151 by the end of FY 2026-2027.

UK asks Japan for Huawei alternatives in 5G networks
The British government asked Japan to help build its 5G wireless networks without Huawei Technologies, citing NEC Corp and Fujitsu Ltd as potential alternative suppliers.

PM SVANidhi Scheme approved loans to over 48,000 street vendors so far
PM SVANidhi Scheme aims at providing affordable working capital loan to street vendors to resume their livelihoods that have been adversely affected due to Covid-19 lockdown. Since the commencement of lending process under PM SVANidhi Scheme on July 02, more than 1,54,000 street vendors have applied for loan across States/ UTs and out of which over 48,000 have already been sanctioned. The Central Government launched the mobile application of PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme.

HDFC Bank’s Aditya Puri highest paid banker for FY20 with ₹18.92 cr in remuneration
HDFC Bank Managing Director Aditya Puri has emerged as the highest paid banker among the top lenders for FY 2019-20, with a 38 per cent jump in salary and prerequisites to ₹18.92 crore.

HDFC Bank’s profit rises by 19.6% to Rs 6,659 crore in Q1
HDFC Bank, which is India’s largest private sector lender by market value, on Saturday announced that it has reported a net profit of Rs 6,658.62 crore for the quarter ended June 30 which is an increase of 19.58 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2019.

India to store crude oil in US
India plans to store its crude oil in US strategic petroleum reserves for use not just during emergencies but also for trading to capture any price advantage. India and the US signed a preliminary agreement for cooperating on emergency crude oil reserves, including the possibility of India storing oil in the US emergency stockpile. India will have to pay a rental for hiring the storages in the US

5 Planets Can Be Seen Without Telescope Next Week From Hyderabad
In the coming week, a unique phenomenon will take place when five planets will be seen with naked eyes from several parts of the earth. Scientist BG Siddharth said, In the coming days an interesting phenomenon can be observed from Hyderabad and just about every country in the world. The interesting thing which is happening is that this week from evening till the morning we will be able to see five planets with the naked eye. These planets are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The three planets beyond these which are Uranus, Neptune and Pluto can only be seen with a telescope.

IIT Delhi Startup Makes Device To Clean Masks For Reuse Amid Pandemic
An ozone-based decontamination device, Chakr DeCoV, to enable safe reuse of N95 masks has been developed by an incubated startup of Indian Institute Of Technology or IIT Delhi. The device has been developed keeping in view the high reliability of healthcare workers on these masks in fight against the coronavirus. Chakr DeCoV was launched by Minister of State Ashwini Kumar Choubey. The unique technology by the IIT Delhi startup can decontaminate N95 masks in only 90 minutes for safe reuse. Chakr DeCoV is built with an innovative ozone-based decontamination mechanism, which ensure effective decontamination with high reliability and safety, as needed in a hospital environment.
